ICON Eyecare Continues Commitment to Top Technology
ICON Eyecare adds new advanced technology to all of its Colorado and Texas locations as part of its strategy to be a center of excellence in advanced eye care.
DENVER, CO (May 26, 2016) – With more than 15 years of eye care experience in Colorado and over 50 years in Texas, ICON Eyecare has built its practice on providing value and access to the top surgical eye care technology and procedures available today. As a demonstration of this commitment, ICON Eyecare invested record amounts of capital to introduce new advanced technology to six of its locations in 2016.
ICON Eyecare has purchased two new femtosecond Catalys® lasers for its Grand Junction and Lone Tree, Colorado offices. The Catalys® laser is used for highly-precise laser-assisted cataract surgery. This machine will help ICON Eyecare’s surgeons achieve the best possible results for all their cataract patients. ICON Eyecare is the first clinic in Western Colorado to offer patients the option of cataract treatment using the advanced Catalys® system. ICON Eyecare’s Dallas, TX office also received a VICTUS laser, also used for advanced laser-assisted cataract surgery. Today, all ICON Eyecare regions have this advanced technology for cataract surgery, a proud milestone for their doctors and Care Teams.
The new IntraLase® femtosecond laser has been introduced to ICON Eyecare’s Lone Tree and Loveland, CO locations. The IntraLase® laser is used for blade free LASIK vision correction procedures. This new technology furthers ICON Eyecare’s mission to give each and every patient the best eyesight possible and an alternative to expensive glasses and contact lens.
Diagnostically, ICON Eyecare’s Downtown Denver office is now equipped a state-of-the-art Pentacam®, which will help ICON Eyecare’s doctors more accurately measure intraocular pressure and take more precise eye measurements. Additionally, new LenStar pre-cataract technologies were installed in both the Dallas and Gun Barrel City locations, ensuring that cataract surgery lenses can be inserted with greater precision and safety.
Stacy Wood, ICON Eyecare’s National Medical Director, expresses his pride in the investments being made to drive better patient outcomes. “ICON Eyecare is investing heavily in the technologies that make our doctors the very best they can be while providing patients with industry-leading access to technologies and treatment options that most smaller practices cannot provide. I am very proud of the company for being a leader and standing behind the center of excellence model my father started 56 years ago.”
This new equipment follows ICON Eyecare’s previous recent purchase of the NIDEK laser, one of the newest FDA-approved technologies used for LASIK procedures. ICON Eyecare is one of only two Denver clinics to offer patients treatment with advanced NIDEK laser technology.
ICON Eyecare will continue investing in new technology to ensure its patients always receive the best, safest and most effective treatments possible for a range of medical eye care services including cataract surgery, glaucoma treatment, diabetic retinopathy and laser vision correction.
