Our Story

At ICON Eyecare, from the very first day we opened our doors in 1999, we have placed the needs of our patients first. For more than two decades, we have made a commitment to our patients to provide high-quality vision and eye care to everyone who comes to see us. In order to make that happen, we have chosen our team members carefully, making sure that all of our surgeons have gone to school at some of the top institutions in the world followed by residency and fellowship experiences at some of the most prestigious institutions in the country.

In that manner, we have recruited eye surgeons who are capable of handling a wide variety of procedures. Some of the conditions we treat outside of LASIK and cataract surgery include corneal replacement, uveitis treatment, glaucoma treatment, and pterygium removal.

During the years that we have been open, our team has performed more than 200,000 vision correction procedures. We take a team approach to our care. From the people who greet our patients to the surgeons who perform the operation, we take the time to provide personalized care to our patients that they deserve. We will explain each and every procedure, going through how it works, and making sure that our patients have a clear understanding of every procedure before it happens. We take a compassionate approach to our patients to create a warm and welcoming environment for everyone who trusts us with their vision care.

A Commitment to the Local Community

During the years that we have been in business, we have been blessed to have been welcomed and accepted by patients across Colorado. To that end, we have tried to give back to these communities that have given us so much. We support local charities in Grand Junction, Loveland, and Denver. We have invested in the development of young surgical talent in the Grand Junction area and have made donations to the Health Services Department at Colorado Mesa University to foster the growth of the next wave of talent.

In addition. we also partner with the local Denver Health center to make sure that everyone has access to an eyecare team that will help them preserve their vision.

Furthermore, we have also partnered with an organization called One World Surgery. Our goal is to help them strengthen their ophthalmology arm. In this manner, we support a strong nonprofit who is trying to ignite service and improve the lives of others by providing access to eye surgeons all over the world.

Residency Program

ICON Eyecare partners with the Pacific University College of Optometry to provide a prestigious 13-month residency program. The program is open to a single candidate, and is therefore highly competitive. Once selected, the resident will work approximately 40 hours per week, with on-call assignments on an as-needed basis. As part of their residency, they will also write a scholarly paper based on original research, a review of literature, or a clinical case with the support of the Residency Coordinator.

The goal of the ICON Eyecare residency program is to provide the resident with clinical knowledge and hands-on experience, as well as an understanding of the importance of scholarly research. By the end of the program, the resident will have gained diagnostic, disease management, and patient care competencies that meet the highest standards in the field.
